Last month I learned about Victoria and Albert, a European company with a small office in Mount Pleasant, SC. I thought I’d to share about their bath fixtures. They have some sexy bath tubs, so check out their website and look at the pictures of their beautiful tubs and matching vessel basins. Their tubs are made from 100% of their trademarked, ENGLISHCAST. ENGLISHCAST is a blend of finely ground volcanic limestone mixed with high performance resin, so these tubs are an eco-friendly and renewable alternative to cast iron or acrylic. Due to the volcanic limestone, Victoria and Albert tubs are naturally white. The resin allows them to be lightly polished to a glossy sheen. You can also paint the exterior of the tub. So be creative and paint a pattern, design or just a color other than white! Yes, these fixtures can scratch like most materials do, but minor scratches can be buffed out and polished back to its glossy sheen. Try not to use an abrasive cleaner on your Victoria and Albert fixture to make sure it maintains its sheen. Click here for information about Victoria and Albert’s 25 year warranty.
You’d be surprised how strong, yet lightweight these tubs are. The resin and volcanic limestone bond together to create a very strong web. Have you ever held a volcanic rock? The ones I’ve held have been lightweight, compared to another stone. Also, these tubs have high insulation properties, which keeps your bathwater warmer for longer. Now that’s eco-friendly too! A Victoria and Albert tub even feels warm to the touch. If you are like me you hate sitting and leaning back against a chilly tub! Sure you can get a tub with a heated back-rest, but a Victoria and Albert tub is naturally warm.
Browse the Victoria and Albert collections to see the variety of styles to suit your unique taste. They have amazing modern and minimalist styles, neat Japanese soaking tubs, and graceful classic tubs with elaborate legs.
Oh and if you need drawing files you can download files for each of their fixtures on the Victoria and Albert website. I think this is a great tool for designers and architects!
